Maybe Women Are Attracted to Sex in Ads

January 08, 2008 By: sexvertising Category: Australia, TV No Comments →

The question should not be “Do women find sex in ads a turn off?” but rather “What kind of sex in ads turns women on?” This beer commercial points out the obvious fact that women do like sex. Now advertisers, just figure out how to perform it properly. (Sorry for the poor video quality.)

Miniskirts Sell Insurance

Try to advertise insurance and the ad will likely be overlooked. Sell it this way and some (mostly men?) won’t take their eyes off the ad. Mercator decided to go with the sexy woman in this commercial. Interestingly, the pitch is to women. Don’t quite get that. Still, cleverly done.

Sexy Stripper Restaurant Commercial

This working mom (she’s a pole dancer/stripper) has a craving a patch just won’t stop. There is only one way she can satisfy her hunger. This sexy commercial is for Nando’s Restaurant. Kids and a topless mom in the same commercial— now that’s pushing the advertising envelope.

Can a Brand Called Microsoft Be Sexy?

December 31, 2007 By: sexvertising Category: Product, Sexy video, TV, United States No Comments →

With a brand called “microsoft”, it’s hard (pun intended) to be sexy. This ad tries to be— but like the guy in the video, the ad does not get you there. Microsoft indeed.

Maybe ads like this is why Apple’s stock continues to rise.

Frustrating Ad Banned in Britain as Suggesting Oral Sex

December 28, 2007 By: sexvertising Category: England, Product, Sexy video, TV No Comments →

This beer commercial, shown during a World Cup game, received a number of parent complaints causing it to be banned by the Independent Television Commission as too sexy to be aired before 9 pm. Interestingly it was not the blatant sexuality of the ad but the oral sex innuendo.

The ITC, “judged it clear from the man’s actions and his partner’s response to them that he was mimicking oral sex”. Do kids get that? The ad is for Carling’s Frustrating Black Label beer.
