Russia’s Sex Day
Mother Russia needs babies. So, it declared a Sex Day (actually, it was called Conception Day). Comrads (maybe they don’t go by that name anymore) were encouraged to take off from work and get it on at home.
Although Russia covers 1/7 of the Earth’s land surface it only has 141.4 million people, making it one of the most sparsely populated countries on the planet. Ulyanovsk region held the contest. Prizes were awarded, including money, cars and refrigerators. Moscow has been running these contests since 2005. Like the participants, the birth rate has risen.
