This 2007 poster ad for TG4 TV show ‘Paisean Faisean’, drew complaints it was offensive and degrading to women. The teacher was dressed in the typical sexy uniform stimulating to the male of the species– high heels, short skirt, fishnet stockings and garter best. The stretching to reveal frilly panties was the icing on the sexy cake.
Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland was asked to ban the ad on the standard grounds– it depicted women as sexual objects. There is no man in the ad so we say it has to be the uniform or, perchance, the stretching.
The advertisers defended it as a light-hearted entertainment show appealing to women between 25 and 44 years of age and not insulting in the least. The Complaints Committee ruled using the image in the ad was in breach of the Code and upheld the complaints . Banned.

Banned in Australia, evidently.
These 2007 ads were designed to get Australian army men to sign up for trade transfers. They featured buxom and full lipped Lara Croft-type cartoon army women in tight uniforms besieging men We Want You. It worked. The requests jumped from 35 to 450! The ads were then pulled. Army tease.
